PPreamble Download the Mac beta

Public beta 0.1.1

Install Preamble on an Apple silicon Mac.

The current build targets macOS 13 or later. It is ad hoc signed while Developer ID notarization is being prepared, so the first launch takes one additional step.

Download the Mac beta

First launch

  1. Download and unzip Preamble-macOS-arm64.zip.
  2. Move Preamble.app into the Applications folder.
  3. Control-click the application and choose Open.
  4. Confirm Open in the macOS dialog.

Later launches work normally. The application reads and writes only the presentation folder you choose.

Included in this beta

  • Markdown editing with live preview
  • Code, equations, charts, quizzes, and timelines
  • Speaker notes, reveal steps, and presentation mode
  • Self-contained HTML export

Current limits

Preamble exports HTML today. PDF and PowerPoint export, custom themes, automatic updates, and Intel Mac support are outside this beta.
